Gomila Park

This is a no-frills place, and the furniture and decor are pretty outdated. There’s no air con, just a fan, and the staff weren’t especially friendly or helpful. But accommodation in Palma can be VERY expensive in peak season, and this place was VERY reasonably priced, so don’t expect luxuries. My apartment was fairly spacious, with a small terrace and okay WIFI. The location was good, and the rooftop pool beside the bar was great, with views of the cathedral, castle and more. There’s also a tourist tax that changes depending on the season.

Don't stay here, or at least don't accept room 324. We paid the same as for the other rooms but went two days in a row without water for showering or even flushing the toilet. The bed felt like it was poking me in the ribs all night, the bathroom was best avoided, and there was no air conditioning. We could hear everyone coming and going, and the view was of a shabby abandoned patio. The only good thing was the staff, the women, not the man.

The pictures make this place look much better than it is. The WiFi was so slow it was useless, and what they call air conditioning was just one rather ineffective fan. They only show the nice photos, so take a look at these. It wasn't even cheap, at more than 50€ per day plus tax. A very bad choice. Avoid it.

The location and rooftop pool were the only redeeming features for us. It’s about a 30-minute bus ride to some of the prettier beaches south of Palma. The room was almost impossible to live in during summer, staying at a muggy 36C+ without air conditioning. Keeping the windows and balcony door open was the only relief, but then the nearby bars made it nearly impossible to sleep. When we checked in, my partner was very uncomfortable about the leftover trash and the woman's hair all over the bedroom and bathroom floor. That didn't bother me, but I didn't want to spend our vacation suffering through the heat, so we left early and booked another hotel. For this price, no air conditioning is unacceptable. I can't recommend staying here in summer.
