Sol Palmanova-Mirlos Tordos

I had a relaxing, calm break and the entertainment was brilliant. I'd definitely stay again. The place was clean and tidy throughout, and our lovely, spacious room was clean too, with a perfect balcony view out to sea. The pools were clean, but freezing! Food choice was amazing across all 3 sittings, with fresh fruit and bread and a great selection. The staff worked nonstop clearing and setting tables and topping up the food. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and happy to see you.

We had a rough time sleeping. The so-called double was two single beds pushed together with a thin sheet over them. The gap was obvious and painful, and the beds kept sliding apart. Pillows were far too thick and long, the duvet was about as thin as toilet paper, and the mattresses were firm. I dreaded bedtime because it meant another painful, sleepless night. I don't know what else they can do, but please get actual double beds. The original room at Sol Palmanova smelled of stale cigarettes and smoke even though it was clean, and gave us both a headache. Reception handled our request well, moved us, and still honoured the views we'd wanted. Staff were generally friendly and attentive, and invited us to aqua aerobics and corn hole. We declined because we just wanted to relax on holiday; they understood and didn't pressure us, which we appreciated. It's a lovely hotel close to everything in Palma Nova and Magaluf. The all-inclusive buffet was neither amazing nor terrible, but could have used more seasoning. There was enough to get by, including the snack bar. The bar queue wasn't too bad, though we noticed people jumping ahead and nothing was done when we pointed it out. For a few days, we left the 'tidy up time' sign on the door, then came back to an uncleaned room and an apology note saying we'd asked them not to clean. We definitely hadn't put out the 'shh I'm sleeping' sign. We assume someone on the floor was trying to be funny. I'd recommend it to young families and older couples.

We spent 5 nights at Sol Palmanova, Mallorca in October. It's a nice family-friendly hotel with good facilities. The entertainment was fantastic, and the snack bar stays open between restaurant hours so there's always something to eat. Most of the team were friendly and welcoming. Our second housekeeper was amazing, and the room was spotless every day. Some hotel rules felt too strict, like charging €1 to change beach towels, and the drink-token system was inconvenient. The rooms were small, and noise came through the adjoining doors. The pools were freezing, with no indoor pool option, which was disappointing in cooler weather. The food disappointed us. Much of it seemed reheated and not fresh, especially the kids' choices like chicken nuggets and fish fingers, though the pasta and some meat dishes were decent. Some restaurant staff interactions were unpleasant. At checkout, and during a family emergency, reception staff were unhelpful.

We arrived 27th september for 7 days, and honestly had the best week with my partner. I can't understand the low ratings. We'll 100% stay here again in the future. Don't let the negative reviews put you off. The hotel and room were very clean, with everything in order. The room was basic but had enough for a good stay. The lifts are small and the queues can be long, though it didn't affect us much since we were on the 2nd floor. Food was very good each day with plenty of variety, including desserts, cheese, and simple options for fussy eaters. The burgers, chips, and pizzas were all very nice. The pool was cold as expected, but once you're in and moving around, it's fine. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the entertainment team were a good laugh. We joined the water aerobics and water basketball and had fun.
