A lovely farm and countryside setting, and a great place to get away. The owners are fantastic and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable.

The mountains and scenery made this feel like a magical getaway, with both adventure and peace and quiet. We completely switched off and loved it. Everything was tidy and clean, and the service was excellent. Carlos and Paula were kind, professional, and polite throughout. Those two days were unforgettable.

Carlos and Paula are so friendly and make you feel at home. We had a wonderful four days in this secluded mountain spot, with good phone coverage. The access road is in good shape and getting in and out was easy. It's a little narrow, though there's enough room for vehicles to pull over and pass. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. There isn't air conditioning, but even in August we slept under a sheet. Breakfast was included and generous, with sweet and savory choices, plus fruit and plant-based milk if you ask. You can also arrange dinner by letting them know in the morning. It was delicious, made with fresh vegetables from their garden. We'd definitely return if we get the chance.

Peaceful and surrounded by nature, this felt like a dream spot for a few days of rest. The owners were kind, attentive, and helpful throughout. There are several hiking and excursion routes nearby. Highly recommend.

Mas del Aragonés is a gorgeous medieval tower from the 16th century. It was fully renovated in 1996, while keeping its original stone and wood structure, and the interior ceiling is spectacular. The setting is a treat for nature lovers, with fantastic views over the picturesque village of Peñarroya de Tastavins and the pine forests around it. A really beautiful place, highly recommended. There are six simply decorated double rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. Room 4 is the biggest. The farmhouse has four floors. Rooms 5 and 6 are at the top, with the best views, and there's also a shared living room where you can admire the lovely wooden ceiling. Rooms 1, 2, and 3 are on the first floor. The reception and dining room are downstairs, where breakfast and meals are served. It's the only room in the farmhouse with a television. Breakfast is included and spectacular. You can choose a sweet option with toast and local pastries, or a savory one, which I preferred, with ham, chorizo, salami, cheese, pork loin, and tomato toast. Coffee and hot chocolate are available. Room 4 is in the basement and can be set up for four with extra beds. We stayed there; it was the coolest room in summer, and we didn't need to sleep with the windows open. It also had a small sitting area with a table and chairs, plus a refrigerator, handy for keeping drinks cold. We also cooled off in an irrigation channel adapted as a pool. There are tables and chairs in the garden where you can sit and have a drink. At night, it's a must to look up at the stars. With no light pollution, they really stand out. Wonderful. We were in the El Matarraña region, so visiting the villages is a must. In Peñarroya de Tastavins, don't miss the Masmut Rocks and Lo Masmut Ethnological Museum. The woman who showed us around was incredibly nice and friendly. Valderrobres is the most touristy, while Beceite is worth a visit for the Parrisal Route and swimming in the natural pools and ponds. Calaceite is lovely too, and La Fresneda was the biggest surprise, possibly the prettiest of them all, with a real village feel. Morella in Castellón is also well worth seeing. It wasn't on our original itinerary since it's outside the region, but Carlos recommended it. He's a great host, always kind and attentive, and made sure we had what we needed. If you can, ask him to show you the winery where he makes and sells his own wines. They were spectacular, and he seemed like a great guy. A couple of things could be improved, even though we had a fantastic stay. Breakfast could include juice, since there was only cold water. There are no TVs in the rooms, only a regular television in the dining room. That wasn't a problem for us in such a natural paradise, where we enjoyed the quiet and beautiful nights. All in all, I highly recommend the place. Its 4.6 rating seems fair to me, and I completely agree with it.
