Having my dog with me was easy since the hotel is pet-friendly, and the beach is right nearby with lovely views and easy access. The rates are good, the beds are comfortable, and the cleaning staff kept the room exceptionally clean throughout our stay. The main letdown was the restaurant, which had no options for coeliacs. That made meals difficult for anyone with gluten intolerance or celiac disease. Good location, value, cleanliness, and comfort, but dining needs more options for guests with dietary restrictions.

The front desk man was exceptionally helpful and spoke perfect English. He arranged a taxi to the hotel and went out of his way to make sure we didn’t miss our train from Peñiscola-Benicarló. Our small Pomeranian was no problem to bring along. The hotel was spotless, including the rooms and linen, and the rooms kept outside noise out well. It’s across the street from the beach and a short walk from the old town. Definitely worth getting a sea view room. We’d stay at Hotel Playa again. Thanks to everyone at Hotel Playa.

We had fresh grilled sardines, lamb, and a great bottle of rioja at lunch on Saturday. It was very good. The restaurant is on the Peniscola seafront and offers both an a la carte menu and a menu del dia.

The shower, beds, and the rest all seemed new. It’s a pretty nice place and good quality for a very low price. We skipped breakfast because it seemed kind of expensive. Give it a try!

We’ve picked this as our first place to stay for a couple of days in Peñíscola. The building is old, but the rooms aren’t. It was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Last time our room had a terrace facing the sea, which made for a luxurious dinner with those amazing views.
