The place itself is nice, but the value for money is completely unjustified at 150 euros a night. There’s no air conditioning, even when it’s over 35 degrees Celsius, and the shower’s hot water runs out fast with barely any pressure. Breakfast is made the day before and left in a fridge for guests to help themselves to the next day. Terrible.

This is now a three-star hotel or apartment building. Originally, it was a convent: in 1390 the Viscount of Peralada gave the Augustinian nuns land to build it, and it remained active until the 1970s.

The old convent has been turned into a rural house or holiday camp. Its courtyard is still there, with a well in the middle, which is an unusual thing to see.

The entrance was still under restoration when I visited. I don't know what it's like now.
