La Venta Del Mar

The location was really nice, but the apartment I was given was tiny, with extremely thin walls. I could hear every footstep and noise from the neighboring apartments, which badly disrupted my sleep. Breakfast was disappointing too, with little choice and poor quality food. In the warm weather, having no refrigerator in the apartment was very inconvenient. I’m very dissatisfied with the stay and definitely won’t return. There must be better options in such a nice location.

The views were nice, but the terraces had no privacy. People on the side terraces could look right into the room, so we had to keep the curtains shut. The room smelled of tobacco, and there were bloodstains on a light switch and the walls. We’d specifically asked for a double bed and got two single beds instead. The accommodation didn’t feel worth the price.

The place itself deserves 10/10 for its amazing views, but the service was terrible. It was 11°C outside and the heating wasn’t on when we arrived. We called the emergency maintenance number and went to the office late Sunday night, but got no response on Sunday or Monday. When we told the woman who said the heating wasn’t on, she replied, “It’s fine... I’ll turn it on tomorrow.” It ran for a few hours, then shut off at 11:30 pm. Also, watch out for the bed corners unless you want to bang your shins like we did.

The rooms are a little small, but they’re perfect, spotless, and the service is excellent. The real treat is stepping onto your room’s terrace, taking a chair into the huge garden by the cliff, and watching and listening to waves hit the enormous rock formations. The changing tides are amazing to see. At low tide, one sea is perfect for swimming, while the other turns into a raging sea with spectacular breaking waves. The views are breathtaking.
