Camping Can Fosses

The village is lovely, with two small but good shops, a tapas bar and restaurant, and a community-run bar that feels like its heart. You can reach Ribbes by train, and it’s well worth visiting. The campsite sits up a steep hill above Planoles, with large shaded pitches and great staff. Toilets, showers, washing-up facilities, and washing machines were all very good. Recommended.

There are walking routes here for different ability levels, and the campsite is in a great spot for getting out on them. Staff were friendly and happy to let me practise my Spanish. The facilities were immaculate, and the bar and cafe were well stocked. I found information leaflets in the games and TV room, or you can get them from the cultural centre in nearby Pianoles.

The grass pitches and decent facilities were nice, and the well-stocked bar and large games room would be handy on a rainy day. A few things let it down for me: none of the staff spoke English, the ground was so hard that I couldn’t get pegs in, and there were no stones around to help. There were also just two showers per gender for the whole campsite, each with one strong, massage-like stream of water.

I found just the right mountain spot for a weekend, with fresh air and a great location. The traditional food was delicious, and the bar has free Wi-Fi. Staff were really helpful and answered my questions about the area. They even showed me a place in the mountains where I could look for mushrooms.
