Park Club Europe

Park Club Europe was a nice place to stay and relax. The animation team was great, and we enjoyed the evening shows. The food was often tasty, with a good range of international cuisines changing each night. It made for a nice holiday.

The rooms were spacious and clean, but without air conditioning, the heat was hard to bear. There are only ceiling fans, and when it’s over 25 degrees, the rooms feel hotter than outside at night. The hotel was okay for two or three nights, but between the heat and some of the staff, we found it rather unwelcoming and wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer. The food choice was very limited and not great. In the main dining room, even the smallest tables seat six, so a couple can’t just take one. While we were eating, a waiter came over and told us to move because the table was for a bigger family. I had an egg on my plate, so you can imagine how long it would take me to eat that 🙄. He stood next to us telling us to move and share a table, which felt rude and uncomfortable. On the night we arrived, we were sent to the BBQ restaurant because it closed in 45 minutes, but everyone was cleaning up by the time we got there and there was no food left. Some bar staff were lovely, others not so much.

The money went missing on the third day. I’d checked my valuables each evening, and they were in a small folder in my backpack, which was in the closet. The folder held my passport, 100 eur and Visa card. I had to block the card immediately, though it was still there. I’d chosen not to pay the 2 eur/day safe charge and had put everything in the backpack instead. I’ve travelled a lot, and this is the first place where money has been stolen from me. When I reported the theft at reception, Francisco questioned whether I was telling the truth. He said it was only my word, and that the hotel wasn’t responsible because I hadn’t used the safe. Instead of enjoying my holiday evening, I ended up speaking with the unfriendly receptionist, the police and finally the manager. They charge 2 eur daily for the safe, which should be free!! I highly do NOT recommend leaving valuables in your room. Please take this seriously.

We’re heading home today after a one-week stay with friends, and we’d come back. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are tidy, the staff are all friendly, the food is great and changes every night. The entertainment team are fantastic and keep going throughout the day. We were pleased to discover an animal area alongside the two pools, with Guinea pigs to see, as well as Macaws, Ducks, Terrapins, Koi and more. It’s a two-minute walk to the beach and shops, and the area isn’t too busy, which we liked. The only downside is there’s no air conditioning in the room, just fans above the bed and in the living room. We were very happy with our stay.
