Aparthotel Fontanellas Playa

The rooms were clean, the buffet had plenty of variety, and my daughter always enjoyed the children’s disco five times a week, run by Rafael. Those were the positives on my third visit in four years. I’d recommended the hotel to friends before, but things have gone downhill since my previous stays. Despite booking two months ahead and being a returning guest, we were put on the first floor right above the bar and event area. Loud music and bass carried on every evening until at least 10 pm. When I raised it, reception seemed confused or possibly ironic. The employee laughed and said, “Three times? We have regular guests who have stayed here 15 times.” We were offered another room on day three, but moving was too much trouble with a toddler and my parents, both over 70 and not very mobile. Dinner now also means paying extra for water, €2.80 for a bottle of unknown source. It wasn’t even clear whether it was just tap water. At a 4-star hotel, I’d expect drinks to be included with half-board. The hotel feels too focused on profit and not enough on guest satisfaction, and it lacks the personal touch it had in previous years. There won’t be a fourth visit.

We had an amazing two-night stay in a penthouse flat with a private spa and an awesome view. The hotel staff were very helpful and polite, and the indoor pool was great and warm. It’s a pity children aren’t allowed in the pool between 8 pm and 11 pm. Kids often wake up very early, and a swim then would have been a nice way to start the day. A taxi from the airport cost less than €20 for four people.

The hotel was very kid-friendly, and we enjoyed the lively performances after dinner. The sea-view restaurant added something special, and breakfast was excellent. My family and I had a fantastic seven-day stay and enjoyed most of our time here. The room was a bit dusty and didn’t quite meet what I’d expect from a 4-star standard. With some improvement there, the experience would be even better.

We had a great stay at Aparthotel Fontanellas. The sea-view room had a really nice interior, and both the room and service were excellent. The dinner buffet was good, with plenty of options. It’s also very convenient for the airport. I’d definitely stay again.
