Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma

Even with a lively nightlife area nearby, our front-facing room was peaceful and the hotel itself stayed quiet. If you can, avoid a room above the breakfast restaurant, since chairs scraping around are clearly audible in the morning. The pool setup was well organized, with plenty of loungers, fresh towels each day, and no towel-saving scramble. The one concern was the very slippery floor around the pool. There were warning signs, but it still felt dangerously slick even in slippers. The rooms were spotless, the facilities well cared for, and the staff extremely friendly. Breakfast was one of the best we've had. We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend the hotel.

Anna, the animator, made a real impression on my daughter, who loved the mini disco and the t-shirt coloring activity. The staff were so involved and enthusiastic with the children. There were activities for different ages, including evening shows, and the hotel felt very kid-friendly. We had a fantastic stay and found the price good for what we got.

We came away very happy after 8 days at Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma. The staff were cheerful and kind to our son throughout, and we appreciated how much they tried to engage with him. The hotel isn't fully designed around children, but there was enough for us: a playroom available any time, a small kids' pool, and a shallow section of the main pool about 40 cm deep. At the evening mini-disco, staff played and danced with our baby even though he is still quite young. The room was spacious, attractive, and seemed newly furnished. I saw how carefully a room was cleaned after checkout, and ours was also cleaned well each day. The mini-bar was empty, so it would've been nice to find at least a few things in it. We were close to the nightlife spots, but sound insulation kept their noise out. Noise travelled more between rooms, though, and we were disturbed for a couple of nights by the neighbours. Dinner had plenty of variety and was about as good as a buffet gets. I'd give it around 7-8, since I wasn't expecting a 10/10 buffet. Breakfast had a little less choice, which was fine for us. I did see one buffet worker use the same tongs on raw chicken and then cooked meat, which is a serious Salmonella risk. I can't say for sure that this caused it, but I had food poisoning one day and think it might have been related. I'm sharing it as feedback, not counting it against the rating after an otherwise great week, and hope the hotel addresses it. Palma beach was an easy 5-minute walk, and we were amazed by the turquoise water and soft sand. Two sunbeds and an umbrella cost €18. The airport was less than a 10-minute taxi ride away. There are small supermarkets nearby, but I found them overpriced with limited choice. Mercadona, a 10-minute walk away, had more selection at reasonable prices. Since we were travelling with our 18-month-old, we didn't go out to the nightlife, though there are plenty of party places close by.

We were told our room was overbooked when we arrived, so we had to pay extra for another one. Still, the hotel itself was super: nice room, great food, and friendly service. The location is perfect. We'll come back. Best 4 star hotel I've ever visited! 🙂❤️
