We were cycling around and needed somewhere secure for our bikes, which isn't a usual request at a small hotel. The host found space for them in an old dining room, so the bikes got five star treatment too. The host was accommodating from the moment we arrived, and the service was five star. Our room was spacious, with a great bathroom and a shower curtain that actually kept the water in. The air conditioning was already running when we arrived, which made it lovely to walk into a cool room. We usually skip breakfast to get out early and beat the heat on our bikes, but the host offered us a 7:30 breakfast. There was plenty to eat, and the coffee tasted great. The location is great, about five minutes' walk from the beach and ten from the river. We didn't eat at the restaurant because we were meeting friends elsewhere, though the menu looked good. For a small hotel, it was a wonderful stay.

The next day we had another piece of meat that really was 350g. What a pity I only photographed that one, not the pathetic first serving. We had dinner here and the entrecôte was cooked well, so that part gets a three. But it was absolutely not 400g, 200g at most. Meat is my specialty, and I don't appreciate being treated like a tourist. When I calmly pointed it out, the waiter was dismissive, even though they knew it was nonsense. A pity.

Many thanks to Alex and the lovely team at Kaian hotel-restaurant for hosting our family wedding lunch. The service was good, and the Kaiondo menu set was delicious.

The staff are super friendly, and the room was beautiful in a good location. But it's far too expensive for what's offered. There's no proper AC, so you have to sleep with the window open. Cigarette smoke comes into the room, and people talking loudly at nearby restaurants and on the street can be heard until 2 am. Breakfast is offered at 10€ per person, which is also much too expensive; the nearby bars and restaurants have nice breakfasts for half the price.

The service was just as good as the food, thanks to a sharp, multilingual waitress who spoke well and really had things under control. The food was amazing, especially the octopus starter, which I'd highly recommend. Best meal I've had yet in North Spain.
