We spent four nights here and absolutely loved the quiet, laid-back feel. It’s close enough to walk to Pollensa, but far enough away to stay peaceful. The beach is beautiful and calm, too. Breakfast is included and there’s plenty to choose from: pastries, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, juice, coffee and hot chocolate lattes, plus three hot options, usually including scrambled eggs, roast vegetables and meat. Towels for the room are replaced every two days. Beach towels are available to borrow, though they don’t get changed often unless you ask very nicely. We didn’t use the self-catering kitchen, but it was well equipped with an oven, hob, fridge and American-style coffee machine. The rooftop has a sauna and a lovely terrace with amazing views. The jacuzzi was empty when we arrived, and we were told it hadn’t worked for years, which was disappointing. All in all, a fantastic stay.

Avoid this place. It’s more hostel than hotel, and our stay was a disaster from start to finish. We booked a 25-day long-term stay online, only to be told on arrival that long-term bookings had to be at least 30 days. The website also showed different dates and prices from what we could actually book. We received no receipt when we moved in, which made the whole arrangement feel questionable. The room had unreliable hot water, even after we were asked to specify the times we wanted it. That made it especially hard to use the place as a home office, which was our plan. The air conditioners were filthy and moldy, and there was mold on the walls. The first washing machine was disgusting, though staff kindly replaced it with a clean one. The building felt worn down: shutter coverings were missing, some windows wouldn’t close properly, and some shutters wouldn’t open. After several sleepless nights, we suspected mice were moving around above the false ceiling. We told the owner, Aina, that we wanted to leave. She insisted there were no mice, said we were imagining it, yelled at me on the phone and hung up. We eventually arranged a move to another room through the cleaning staff. We accepted only because Aina showed no willingness to refund even part of the rent we’d paid in advance. The second room was also moldy and impossible to work in. There were loud events with outside visitors who ignored Spain’s rules about masks and distancing, staff talking loudly across floors, and constant construction or repair work. The home-office idea was completely unworkable. We left for a hotel a few days early, without formally checking out or returning the room. When I came back for our things and to return the cards, someone else was already staying in our room, which was still rented to me and for which I still had the keys. Our belongings had been removed without anyone checking whether we were coming back. Room cleaning was normally by prior arrangement, so I also wonder why anyone entered. I saw no exterminator and don’t think anything was done about the mice before the room was rented again. We’re just relieved to be out, and hope other travellers avoid the same experience. We have nothing to prove we stayed there, no contract or receipt, so taking the owners to court seems unlikely to help. Zero out of five, or less if possible. The worst experience ever.

The restaurant downstairs has a good, extensive menu with plenty of local dishes, and the staff there are lovely. We got a warm welcome from the friendly hotel staff, too. It’s a fantastic location for relaxing and watching cyclists and joggers go by. The road outside is mostly quiet and wasn’t a problem at all. I still have a few days here and haven’t tried every facility yet, so I’ll update this later. I’d definitely consider coming back.

The rooftop view is lovely, and the staff are really kind. But the hostel is a 30-minute walk from any open shop, hot water isn’t reliable, and the rooms were cold at night during our mid-March stay. We’d saved all year for this holiday, and booked a month partly because Airbnb said breakfast was included. When we arrived, we found out it wasn’t. We told the owner, Aina, how disappointed we were. She said we’d received a big discount, which was expected since it was the cold season, during the Covid pandemic, and a month-long booking, around 30% less. She also said breakfast for two cost €300 a month. We understood the hostel’s position and knew mistakes happen. We just wanted them to understand that breakfast had been included in the listing and had helped us choose the place. It was frustrating that no small gesture was offered to make up for the confusion, whether that was a breakfast concession, a price adjustment, a room upgrade or even a hot drink. Instead, we got what felt like automated replies saying they were sorry and to let them know if we were unhappy. We also had to insist with Airbnb before the breakfast claim was removed from the listing. After a lot of back and forth with Airbnb and the owner, we decided not to pay the rest of the money, even though the price was higher. We don’t regret it. These things happen in life.
