Albergue Aloxa Hostel

It looked modern and spacious, and seemed like a nice place at first. But it was noisy all night because people weren’t respecting the quiet rules, so after walking the Camino all day, we got no rest. The toilets were dirty, too. We stayed one night.

My husband’s sneakers were stolen here! Don’t leave anything unattended on those “shoe racks.” Food we’d put in the refrigerator disappeared as well.

The place is beautiful, and the service was lovely. I left my ID behind and they helped me get it back. There’s an Aldi across the street, and Pontevedra is a beautiful town. We had a great stay on the way to Santiago. People inside were loud around 8 or 9 pm, which could be tough if you’re getting up early. We only stayed one night, though, so I can’t tell if that’s usual or a one-off. Definitely coming back :))

The rooms are spacious and very clean, the kitchen is big, and there’s lots of room to hang clothes to dry. Staff were friendly and helpful, and it’s a minute from the bus and train stations. Great value for the money. The only downside is that some rooms don’t have windows. Otherwise, a very nice hostel.
