dpaso Urban Hostel

I’m staying at Dpasio Urban in Pontevedra, and it’s been a terrible experience. The bed costs €19, there’s no atmosphere, and meals aren’t included. Washing clothes costs another €8. Since it isn’t just for pilgrims, security is a real concern. I’ve had a private room with a pilgrim’s meal in a secure place for €30. This feels like money grabbing.

There were bedbugs in both my bed and my husband's. Avoid this place. The owner denied there was a bedbug problem and refused to refund our stay. Very rude. They also let homeless people stay there, then claimed they were pilgrims. What a joke.

I got a great night's rest here. The beds were clean, had no bugs, and came with sheets. It’s one room, but everyone was considerate and the place was SILENT. The showers had hot water and great pressure. You can wash clothes by hand or machine on site, and there’s a self-service laundromat right next door that I recommend. It’s right on the Camino. The owner gave me a warm welcome, showed me around, and even carried my backpack to the room. Thank you!

I’ve traveled around Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, and the Basque Country, and this was the worst bed bug infestation I’ve seen in Europe. I was covered in itchy bites for the first time, and spotted at least five bugs, including on my pillow. A homeless woman slept in a nearby bunk, and the dorm smelled like a homeless camp. There was a foul odor at the entrance too, masked with a baby powder scent. Please stay away. I wish I’d listened to the reviews from a month earlier that mentioned bedbugs.
