The town of Potes was the only good part of our stay. The apartment was awful, and honestly the dirtiest place we’ve ever stayed. The sheets had been left by the previous guests, there were no towels, and the apartment and building seemed to get no maintenance. We complained and spoke with six different people, but nobody offered a solution.

I spent one night there in January. It’s a basic but clean apartment, though not one I’d recommend for winter. It was very cold, and even with electric radiators in every room, I could only get two running at once before the circuit breaker tripped, so I couldn’t get the place to a minimally comfortable temperature. The bed, mattress and pillows could all be better, and there was no shower gel in the bathroom.

The power kept cutting out. It seems they have only the minimum contracted power, so you can’t run all the radiators to warm the place, never mind plug anything else in. The shower was cold after two minutes, even after a December morning walk, and the water was only lukewarm to start with. The apartment was awful: dirty kitchenware that we had to wash, a sofa with a broken leg, and a living room door without glass. The bed and pillows were terrible, and the bathroom had only toilet paper, no shower gel or anything else. There were also other things a tourist apartment is legally required to have, which I won’t even get into. They shouldn’t be allowed to rent apartments in this condition.

A bad stay, and I wouldn’t return. The apartment felt old and neglected, the bathroom needs repairs, and the beds were uncomfortable. They hadn’t met the booking conditions either: a sofa bed was advertised, but what we found was an old, very dirty sofa.
