Casa del Zapatero 3000

The house had three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a big kitchen, and a spacious living room. It was well equipped and met my expectations. I did have trouble with the company, Apartamentos 3000. I called and was told the deposit would be €90, but after paying, they said it was €150. I was also told booking directly with them instead of through Booking.com would mean an 11 am checkout, but when I booked, the Cantabria offices said it would be 10 am. In the end, the deposit cost more than the booking itself. You pay for two nights but lose half a day, since check-in is at 5 pm and they won’t let you in a minute earlier. If you want to leave later than 10 pm, they message you asking and trying to charge for the extra time.

The location and views are incredible, and the house itself is quite good. There were a few issues inside, though: the shower was broken and some of the mattresses were hard. Check-in is at 5:00 PM, even if the house is ready, and checkout is 10:00 AM. With such a late arrival time, they should let you stay until 11:00 AM. They do allow that, but charge extra.

We had a perfect weekend here. The house is cozy, very clean and tidy, and close to everything you might want to enjoy. There wasn’t quite enough bedding for how cold it was when we arrived, but the place warmed up quickly to a comfortable temperature. The boiler had a problem, which was fixed in less than an hour. The response was efficient and attentive. A great value option in an unbeatable setting.

We stayed on the ground floor over the weekend of March 14th, arriving at 6 p.m. Friday. The owners knew we’d be arriving then and that we had a 2-year-old with us. Every electric heater was off, and the whole house was at 12 degrees. We set them to 20 and went out for a walk because it was warmer outside than in. When we came back, the power had gone out, presumably because all the heaters were running at once, and the house was still freezing. We tried to make dinner, but the power went out again. It happened three more times. A disastrous stay. The sheets and towels weren’t clean enough either. One bed had stained sheets, so we had to change them. I won’t return, and I’ll make sure anyone who asks me doesn’t either. Businesses close over things like this, all to save a few bucks.
