Eix Alcudia Hotel +18

The breakfast is the only reason this gets 2 out of 5 from me instead of 1. I've never stayed in a more overrated hotel. The outside of the building looks good, but inside it reminded me of an apartment back home in Bosnia: depressing, dull, and as if it might crumble to dust. There were cockroaches in our room, which only added to that feeling. I'll be back in Alcudia many times during my life, but I won't stay at this awful hotel again.

The sea is close, but swimming there isn't really an option because it's beside a port and the water is dirty. You have to drive at least 15 minutes to reach a clean beach. For the same price, there are 3-star coastal hotels that are far better, so my holiday here was ruined and I strongly wouldn't recommend this place. The dining room was in poor condition and dirty. Storage rooms smelled moldy, plates were scratched and badly washed, the walls were crumbling, and there was dirt and greasy staining everywhere. At breakfast I had to clean my own table because staff didn't bother. Dinner was tasteless and offered no choice. Tables were always taken, and the free ones were dirty. I sat at one, but a staff member, who I believe was the kitchen manager, made me leave, saying it was reserved for other guests. There was no sign, and nobody apologized. When I took photos of the dining area, she rushed over and demonstratively threw plates in front of me. The so-called manager's rudeness completely spoiled my impression. In the lobby, cheap laminate patched with tape covered the floor instead of tile, and the rooms were old and very worn. This hotel absolutely doesn't live up to its claimed 4 stars.

The morning buffet was plentiful and had plenty of variety. Staff, from reception to the cleaners, were really nice. The rooms are a bit tired but acceptable. My main issue was the air conditioning, which couldn't cool the room enough, and the provided fridge didn't keep things cool either. There was a water dispenser, but you weren't allowed to refill your bottle, which felt a bit churlish. Good stay, though a couple of repairs or improvements could make it great.

Just got back from a five-day break with a friend. The hotel was spotless, there was always a nice range of food, and all the staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. We loved this fantastic hotel 😀
