La Carabela

The pool and outdoor area are a pleasant place to unwind. The apartments themselves are quite basic, though functional if all you need is somewhere simple to stay. There can be a fair amount of traffic noise, particularly during busy periods, so keep that in mind if you’re a light sleeper. The place could use a makeover to freshen it up.

The rooftop sunbathing spot has a great view, and there were always plenty of loungers around the pool, which stayed open all day. We had a hire car and managed to park without trouble, even on the small street outside. The poolside area and lovely water pressure in the shower were both pluses. The bathroom looks a bit dated, but that didn’t matter much to us. We spent Christmas 2023 here and had a clean, tidy room. The bed and bedding were comfortable, and the room was cleaned, with fresh towels and beds changed daily. On the couple of days we didn’t need it, we asked the ladies not to bother. Everyone on staff was polite and helpful. We were self-catering, but one morning we arrived a little late for breakfast and they kindly let us get something at the very end of service. The kitchen had cups, glasses, pans and utensils, and you could buy washing-up liquid, salt, pepper, water and cooking oil at reception for a couple of euros. A nice place to stay 🙂

The handle came off the door on day one, which was quite an introduction. There was no kettle, just a filtered coffee machine.

This was our second stay, and we’d come back again. The room on the longer side, number 406, was bigger and had a better balcony. Last time we were on the shorter side, where the balconies feel enclosed. The cleaners came every day, which felt a bit excessive since we usually didn’t need it. One balcony slat was broken and needs fixing. There were a few loud guests too, though that’s not the hotel’s fault. Thanks again.
