Salmarina Bungalows

Matagorda beach is just a four to five minute walk away, and the local shops, restaurants and bars take two to three minutes on foot. There’s a great range to suit different tastes. The accommodation is a great size and could easily fit two adults and two children. It has a shower room, a kitchen and dining area, one bedroom, a front porch with table and chairs, and a rear porch. There’s a safe in the bedroom, plus an iron and board and a hairdryer. No air conditioning, but they supplied a large floor fan.

Our first trip away on our own without the kids, and these 16 bungalows were just right. We stayed in number 14, probably the closest to the pool, and wish our two week stay at salmarina bungalows could have been longer. The apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed, including an oven, something we’ve never had in another apartment. Wifi was adequate for what we needed. The complex is enclosed and gated, and you need a key to get in and out, which gave us peace of mind. It seems to be a favourite with lots of people, so getting a booking at any time might be lucky. We’d definitely stay again. Thanks to the staff, especially Hilary for helping us out with our late flight.

The pool was unusable, like soup, and a health hazard. The pool area was broken and unsafe in several places. The apartment was tired and unclean. After spending the first day complaining and deep cleaning the fridge, we rebooked somewhere else on the second day of our holiday.

A peaceful little bungalow complex in matagorda. From my terrace I can see the sea, pure bliss.
