Villa Benjamin

We’ve just returned from a stay with eight people and a two-year-old. The villa had plenty of room, lots of crockery and cutlery, loads of towels for showers and the pool, and enough hot water that nobody had to argue over showers. Our two teenage grandsons enjoyed the pool table and table tennis downstairs. We paid extra to heat the pool, and it was warm, with plenty of sun loungers. The residential area was quiet. The location was a real problem for us. Jet2 had included car hire in our deal, then withdrew it, and we couldn’t find a car to rent privately. Two people in our group have mobility issues, and in the heat even getting breakfast meant a half-hour walk down and back up. Carrying water was difficult too. A supermarket wouldn’t deliver to the area. Unless you’re young and super fit, a car is essential. The only cot was a travel cot. My granddaughter is two and not quite ready for a bed, but too active for that, so we had to hire a proper wooden cot. The TV worked sometimes and failed other times. There was no folder with instructions, including the WiFi password, so we had to search online for everything. There was nowhere to store luggage after checkout, and Jet2 wouldn’t help despite my phone call. We had to leave the villa at 10am, while our flight wasn’t until 8pm. I understand the cleaning needs to be done, but there’s plenty of space and our cases wouldn’t have got in the way. The next guests couldn’t arrive until 4pm, when we’d already be gone. We had to carry our luggage and pay extra to store it for the day. I thought that was very poor customer service. It’s a nice villa, but the location was poor for us. Would I go again? Definitely not!
