This apartment complex sits atop a hill between the renowned resorts of Puerto Rico and Amadores, boasting spectacular panoramic ocean views and vistas of both villages. Facing the Teide volcano, guests are treated to breathtaking sunsets each afternoon. Conveniently located, a bus station is just 100 meters away, shopping is within 400 meters, and the beach is 2 kilometers away. Las Palmas Airport is 55 kilometers from the complex. Built in 2007, the four-story complex offers 70 apartments and features a lobby with 24-hour reception, a safe, currency exchange, elevator access, a game room, paid internet access, and parking. A children's playground is also available for a fee. Apartments feature a bedroom with two beds and a connecting room with a sofa bed, separated by an open arch. A living room with an additional sofa bed and a private bathroom with a shower are also included. The combined living room/kitchen area comes equipped with a two-burner stove, microwave, kettle, fridge, toaster, crockery, glassware, and cutlery. Amenities include a direct dial telephone, satellite TV, a 30-liter water heater, a safe, and a terrace. High chairs are available upon request. Guests can enjoy two swimming pools, a children's paddling area, and a sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols. A poolside snack bar offers refreshments. Sun loungers and parasols are also available for rent at the beach.

On our third stay, the main disappointment was the so-called heated pool. In earlier visits during colder months, it was 22°C, which is generally fine. This time it wasn't heated and sat at a chilly 17°C. I have a temperature sensor on my Google Pixel. I couldn't swim there, so I went to the beach each day instead, where the sea was 21°C in January. When I raised it with reception, she blamed winter. I said it was supposed to be heated, but she just repeated that it was winter. Since I can't rely on it being heated from November to March, we can't stay here again because daily swimming is a must for us. We have stayed at Balcón Del Mar three times in a year and generally enjoyed it. Just be aware that some rooms have no view and you'll need a taxi to reach the beach. It's near a metro centre with some good bars and restaurants. Men who hang around there, who aren't Spanish, offer drugs every ten minutes. It isn't really a problem, but with my 79-year-old mother it felt awkward and harassing, and made the place seem a bit shady. The two-bedroom rooms are spacious, with good TV and Wi-Fi. Rooms are cleaned and towels changed twice a week. The towels were an issue: they were changed the day after we arrived while still fairly fresh, then the next change on day five came with towels that were definitely past their best. For Balcon Del Mar to improve, please heat the pool and replace the towels. I also want to thank the cleaner who did our room. She was a delight, so happy and cheerful, and always singing. She left the apartment spotless. I left my gum shield behind and she returned it to me. It's a small thing that many might throw away, but those aren't cheap! This was room 302, and we stayed for seven nights from 22 January 2026, in case that helps pass my thanks on to her. We recommend the place for good value. After three visits, though, it's time for us to explore other accommodation in Mogan. We don't like big all-inclusive hotels, since eating in different restaurants is part of our holiday. We'd like to find somewhere like Balcon Del Mar with sea views and all-day sun.

For a last-minute booking, the value was excellent, and the staff were helpful, attentive, and friendly throughout. We had a short family break between Christmas and New Year and got exactly what we wanted. I'd happily recommend the place and return. We booked a premium Gold apartment. It was spotless and had all the essentials, plus air conditioning in every room, though we didn't need it at that time of year. The complex has two good-sized pools, plenty of sun loungers, a small bar with food and drinks, and two pool tables. The hilltop location is ideal, just a few minutes' walk from the Europa shopping centre. Before booking, I'd read some negative reviews. Looking back, many seemed to expect more than this kind of accommodation offers. There's no daily cleaning, the large recycling and rubbish bins are outside, and towels can be refreshed on request. That's standard for resorts around Spain and the Canary Islands.

My two boys loved the air conditioning and spent ages in the pool. The staff were polite, helpful, and willing to assist. Our room was a decent size, with a huge balcony and a good sea view. It was a great place for our Gran Canaria holiday.

The apartments are wonderfully spacious, and I'd book again without hesitation. Everything was perfect apart from one small gripe: I wish the fridge-freezer were a bit bigger.

The location is up at the top of Puerto Rico, but the Europa Centre is a short walk for food and drinks. A taxi down to the centre of Puerto Rico is under €10. We booked through love holidays and got a great deal, and I'd definitely recommend the hotel and look forward to coming back. Our room was ready when we arrived, well before 3 pm, and reception staff were helpful and gave us useful information. The rooms are spacious, with huge balconies overlooking the pool. Facilities are basic, but everything you need is there. The pool and surrounding area were clean and tidy, with plenty of sunbeds. We ate at the pool bar most days. It had the usual bar snacks and full meals, all fairly priced and decent for the cost. A pint was only €3, a bargain. The bar staff were friendly and cheerful too.
