Gran Hotel Son Net

We came back after eight years, and leaving this time nearly brought me to tears. Son Net feels elegant and sophisticated, yet still relaxed and unpretentious. The new decor is rich and charming, with such well-matched textures and colors and astonishing attention to detail. The little touches made our stay special. There was plenty of bottled water and coffee in the suite, and the beds were so comfortable. The white towels and table linens felt luxurious and looked beautiful. Breakfast and dinner were feasts, especially the baked bread and treats, which were worth every calorie. Evening dining was special too, with fabulous live music in the background. The staff were amazing in so many ways.

Breakfasts were lovely, and the calm atmosphere made time by the pool a highlight. I also really enjoyed the spa. The hotel and its surroundings are gorgeous. The staff could have been friendlier and more engaging, but we loved our stay and would come back.

The service sets a high bar for ultra luxury hotels. Everyone was welcoming and made us feel at home, and the attention to detail was impressive. They even made sure our car had water when we headed out. Lorenzo Castillo did a wonderful job with the decor, which has a real sense of quality, craftsmanship, and tradition. The estate itself is majestic and charming. The building, interior details, and gardens are all beautifully curated and maintained. The nearby town is quiet and charming too, a lovely place to find some peace away from the often busy, crowded parts of the island. I’ve stayed at some of the world’s best hotels, and this is at the top of my list so far. I can’t wait to return.

The rooms are made for sleeping: the bed was so comfortable, and they got wonderfully dark. The gym and spa are beautiful, and the treadmill programs made for one of the best runs of my trip. Breakfast was next level, with incredible baked goods, fresh juices, and nutritious choices. We had dinner at the hotel one night, and the food, view, and people watching were all top notch. One waiter even slipped me a little red wine to take back to the room. The small gestures like that, along with the pleasant staff who each left an impression on us, made the stay feel five star. It was a wonderful mix of people. At check in I found the place a bit quirky. The room key is huge, about the size of your head, and if one of you goes out, the other either gets locked in or locked out. They don’t have steamers or irons, which I think is a fire hazard, but staff will gladly iron your clothes in about 20 minutes. Once we got past those oddities, we really fell in love with the hotel. It’s charming, and you can properly unwind here. Highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed!
