Hotel San Roque

The hotel is in the same solid building as the restaurant, and both were immaculate, but the lighting in the hotel was very poor. It was so dark by my door that I had to crouch down to find the keyhole. The rooms are simple and relaxing like the restaurant, though you can hear sounds from other rooms. The staff were eager to help, and showed us a safe spot off the lobby to store our bikes and recharge them. The restaurant alone would make me come back. Its main room has ten tables, old brick and stone walls, a high beamed ceiling and soft but ample lighting. The food was extremely tasty and came in large portions for 16EUR. Breakfast included an omelette, fresh fruit and great American coffee.

Our family had such a memorable Christmas Eve at San Roque Restaurant in Reinosa. The festive decorations made the rustic dining room feel especially welcoming, and the menu had enough variety even for the pickiest eaters. Everything we tried was full of flavour and carefully prepared. Our waitress was warm, lively, and attentive throughout, going out of her way to make sure things were right. We left already talking about coming back. It felt like much more than just dinner.

We stayed two nights in mid June 2024 while cycling around the region on e-bikes. The hotel made us feel welcome and gave us a good spot to park and charge the bikes. Our room was clean and pleasant, and breakfast was simple but plenty for us. Dinner is available in the restaurant, with a limited menu that was excellent and good value. At €70 a night for bed and breakfast, we thought it was excellent value. Recent opinions have varied over the years, possibly with changes in ownership or management, so here's an up to date review: we'd recommend it.

The homemade three course dinner was beautifully cooked and only €15, and a good breakfast came with our room for €57. The hotel was very clean and friendly, and the new management has freshened the place up while keeping its homely welcome. This was our third one night stay, and it was even better than before. Next year, we'll stay longer.
