Camping Playa Sauces Ribadesella

The campsite facilities were good, and the woman at reception was kind and funny. It's well located, not too far from the beach and right beside a large supermarket. I'd recommend it to people walking the Camino de Santiago. One staff member, the Argentinian guy from the bar, really spoiled the stay: he was rude to my colleague, then suddenly entered the glamping tent where all the pilgrims were staying without knocking or asking permission. Someone could have been naked or changing. He gave no reason to check the room, just said, “I work here.” I work in reception myself, and staff should always ask guests before entering an occupied room.

We stayed in our camper, and the woman at reception was great and really helpful. The facilities were clean, and the showers were lovely and hot. It's nicely placed for a quick trip into town or a stroll along the beach promenade.

We liked it so much that we stayed an extra night, with plenty to do in the area. It's a simple, peaceful campsite in a great spot, within an easy, flat walk of Ribadesella town and the beach. The staff were friendly, the toilets exceptionally clean, and the washing up and laundry facilities were good. Great value. Some of the grass pitches were soggy this early in the season, but there were several hard standing spots, so that wasn't a problem.

There's plenty of room on this large site, and the woman at reception was very friendly when we arrived. She sorted out a price with our ACSI membership that suited us well. The shower block was clean and functional, and the washing area was clean and well located. There are good walks straight to the left as you leave, and also to the right toward the beach.
