The access road has been renovated, so getting there is easy now. I also loved the owner, who was attentive and friendly, and happens to be a painter. Her paintings are displayed around the place and make it feel even more welcoming and special. I live in busy, noisy cities and needed somewhere genuinely peaceful. Pousada da Alba in Alea, Asturias, exceeded what I expected. The scenery is unique, and there’s a stream with the sound of running water. It’s a kind of peace that’s hard to describe. A wonderful stay, and I’ll certainly return. I recommend it to anyone looking for rest, nature, and a true retreat.

Lourdes was lovely and very helpful. The house is quiet and has what you need, though the pillow in our comfortable room was a little too soft for me. Getting there is a bit of a hassle. The village has just one bar, and it’s sometimes closed. The road is dark and winding, so keep that in mind, especially since it’s a 25-minute drive from Ribadesella.

A friendly hostess welcomed us to this lovely house in the mountains, about 7 km from Ribadesella. It’s surrounded by nature and a good place to get away from everything. There’s no TV or Wi-Fi in the rooms.

The surroundings are beautiful, but the place is very isolated and there’s no Movistar signal. I was disappointed with La Posada de Alba because it wasn’t what I expected. The last 5 km are on a terrible, narrow road full of bends, and you have to drive at around 30 km/h. The room could use a towel rack, a shelf in the shower for bottles or sponges, proper sized bath towels instead of tiny ones, and a television. They only provide sachets of shampoo and shower gel. Most of all, the mattress was awful and sagged completely on one side, making it very uncomfortable. Breakfast tasted very good, but our Wonderbox voucher said it was a buffet. It wasn’t. The owner offered us several options and brought what we chose, which was not a buffet breakfast.

Lourdes made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. She’s the heart of La Posada del Alba, always attentive, friendly, and smiling in a way that makes you feel genuinely welcome. She even suggested hiking routes and local restaurants, and made us a delicious breakfast with local products. The inn is charming, with rustic touches and cozy comfort. Everything, including the decor and cleanliness, is lovingly looked after. It’s so peaceful, just right for resting and switching off, and the mountains, meadows, and fresh air around it are spectacular. Lourdes clearly loves what she does, and staying here felt like being welcomed into a real home. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you, Lourdes, for opening your home to us so warmly.
