The place was spotless, and the house has been renovated, so it feels new. But the little things were frustrating. We got two tiny bottles of shampoo and shower gel for two adults staying two nights, and they weren’t refilled. We showered mornings and evenings after the beach and hiking, and by the last night the shower gel was gone. I messaged the owner late that night, which I understood, but there still wasn’t any the next morning. I also wish they’d told us the card payment would show up under their restaurant’s name rather than the rural house. A charge came through three days before our stay from a restaurant I didn’t recognize, and I panicked that my card had been copied. I figured out it must be connected because it was in the same town. A heads-up would have prevented that surprise. Cleanliness was 10/10, but I wouldn’t return because of those other details.

Manuela was lovely, and Alvaro gave us clear directions and a warm welcome. The house was new and very clean, with a peaceful feel and a handy spot for exploring Cantabria and nearby places. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back.

Renting the whole house with friends and children was a real treat. The shared spaces are roomy and well equipped, and every bedroom has its own bathroom and TV. It’s a very clean, new country house, conveniently set between Cabárceno and the beaches, about 20 minutes from either. Highly recommended.

Álvaro and Manuela made us feel so welcome. We came for a weekend wanting nature and quiet, with good transport connections, and found just that. The accommodation is brand new and spotless. We’ll be back!
