For 32 euros we had two set menus and coffees, and the meal was very good value. The suckling lamb was incredibly tender and top-notch; the cod was more ordinary, with simple tomato sauce, a good portion, and perfectly cooked fries. We started with goat cheese and anchovy salads, both very good, with balsamic reduction and toasted nuts, nicely arranged on a big plate. The bread was excellent, though a little undercooked. We had a 2014 Rioja Azabache Tempranillo, young and unoaked, with pleasant ripe red fruit flavors. The cheesecake was good and intense, while the pomace brandy cake came across as an average chocolate and sponge cake. The coffees had a nice aroma, and the service was quick, attentive, and friendly. They finished with a complimentary shot. A great place to eat well for a very good price.
The bathroom was the best part of the room, which was otherwise just okay, with a small, old-fashioned TV. Service was pleasant, but breakfast was very basic. Keep the window shut if you don’t want the frequent trains to wake you: they start at 7:30 am and run until 11:30 pm.
The food is homemade and the value for money is very good. The place itself is lovely and pleasant, but what really stands out is how nice the owner and all the staff are. I’d recommend it wholeheartedly.
The inn feels elegant and beautiful, and the setting is truly relaxing. Staff were both friendly and professional, and breakfast was a good buffet with plenty of milk options.
