10/10
Breakfast had plenty of choice and was delicious, with something for everyone. We also enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and lovely views. The staff were so friendly and helpful, always checking that we had what we needed. Our room was clean, roomy, and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. Hotel Salamanca Montalvo is a short drive from Salamanca’s historic center and felt like great value for the price. I’d happily stay there again.

We went to the hotel to report how dirty everything was and that the room smelled like shit. We didn’t want to sleep there, but they wouldn’t give our money back. This hotel is a dirty scam.

I’m posting because reception charged us more than both the online price and Booking.com. The bar staff seemed totally overworked, so getting service was difficult. Some room lights didn’t work, and the lobby furniture looked cheap for a four-star hotel. It’s also next to the motorway on an industrial estate.

We had dinner from the three-course menu, which was really tasty, and glasses of good wine were reasonably priced. Breakfast was a perfectly adequate buffet, and the staff were lovely. The hotel works well if you’re traveling by car, on the outskirts of Salamanca with easy motorway access. There’s secure, free parking in the basement. Our room was warm and comfortable in winter, with lovely bed linen and three pillows each.

A simple, clean hotel, and there’s a fridge in the room. The location is ideal if you need parking nearby. Hotels inside the city have much more charm, but they cost more, and you may have to pay for a parking garage or street parking, where many spaces have a two-hour limit, up to €2.20 per two hours.
