Apartment 24 had impressive views that made it feel as if you were right out on the sea. Everything was very clean, and the furniture was new and in perfect condition. It also had all the amenities.

We stayed three nights at the end of November 2024 in apartment 28, a one-bedroom place right on the coast, up on a cliff. The panoramic windows look straight at the ocean, and there’s no balcony. Inside, it was clean and cosy, with fairly new things, a comfortable mattress, pillows and blankets, and white, clean bedding. There was a stove, microwave, kettle and washing machine. The owner was responsive when we texted questions and usually replied with advice fairly quickly. One issue was the electricity: if the water heater was running, other appliances tripped the fuses. We didn’t realise at first, but the owner explained by message and suggested switching the heater off. Parking was also hard to find when we returned in the evening, though maybe that’s true everywhere. Getting into the complex at night was difficult because the lock kept breaking. The owner said it was possible, but it took some getting used to. I had to reach through the gate with the key, feel for the lock, insert it and open the door from inside, even from outside. A few hours after checkout, while we were on a ferry to Tenerife, my husband got a message from the owner asking about the toilet. In the video the owner sent, he pulled a coin-sized piece of plastic from the place where the toilet seat attaches, then put it back. He said it was chipped. It’s difficult to prove we didn’t break something, since we hadn’t inspected the toilet or seat closely on arrival, and I can’t say for sure whether the damage was there before we left or appeared afterward. But neither of us are vandals, and the accusation felt very unpleasant. I was more concerned about the two pale, uncovered fabric chairs by the dining table, since they stain easily and are difficult to clean, so I covered them with large towels throughout our stay. In the end, my husband paid 78 euros to Booking.com, where we’d booked, based on the owner’s account. It felt unfair, so I wanted to describe what happened and advise future guests to be careful. This is only my personal opinion. We’ve travelled half the world and always used Booking.com, and this is the first time we’ve run into a situation like this. I hope the owner, maid and other staff meant no harm.
