Servatur Don Miguel - Adults Only

The pool, terrace and bar area are a real plus, and all the staff are friendly. I've stayed here many times and always have a great time. It's ideally placed for Yumbo, though the rooms are a bit dated and vary in quality. This time we were assigned a triple room that didn't suit us. The bathroom was a little dirty, and it was a long way from reception. I spoke with Dario at reception, who was fantastic and got us moved within two days. He was so helpful and lovely to deal with. As I kept telling him, Dario, you're my favourite! We'll be back.

The pool is a good size, and we had no trouble finding a lounger. Entertainment was okay when it was on, though it ended very early for an adults-only hotel. Drinks were reasonably priced, but staff could be quicker with drinks, bills and change. Wi-Fi was fast throughout. At checkout, there's a luggage room and a shower room, but that shower room could be cleaner, and it needs fresh towels and mats available in it. We booked a 10-night family stay. Reception staff were helpful and checked us in quickly late at night. The layout is confusing, so maps would help. The airport is close, which makes transfers easy. If you're with a tour operator, be aware that you get dropped across the road. Rooms are dated but comfortable and functional. The air conditioning worked only sometimes. The bed and bedding were comfortable and I slept well. There was ample storage and a fridge, but no kettle or coffee machine. The bathroom was spacious and the shower strong. Some grout needed a scrub, but it was generally clean. Rooms were cleaned daily; the cleaners knocked quite early, before 9am, but returned later if we said no. Breakfast was very good, with a nice range, well laid out. The coffee was awful in every version. Restaurants and Yumbo Centre are nearby. The beach is a hilly walk away, but not a difficult one. All in all, I'd recommend the hotel.

The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and breakfast was fantastic with options for all tastes. The pool and terrace are also excellent. The rooms are a little dated, which I agree with, but the rest of the hotel makes up for it. It's just across from the Yumbo centre, around a two-minute walk, yet surprisingly quiet. Great location. For a cheap and cheerful stay, it's fine as long as you don't expect too much. The location is excellent, near the beach, plenty of good restaurants and bars, a taxi rank right outside and buses a few minutes away. The pool is decent and there were always loungers; towels can be rented. Room cleaning happened daily, sometimes a bit early. The bed was comfortable enough, but it sits on wheels and shifts around at night. Rooms don't have a kettle, tea or coffee, or an iron, things most hotels usually provide. The beach bar service was poor and slow. Most times we had to go order ourselves because staff stood at the bar and barely acknowledged us.
