Fairmont La Hacienda Costa del Sol

The Season Opening Party was fantastic, and we’re grateful for the invitation. We’re still at Fairmont La Hacienda and have had an amazing stay 😉 The resort, pools, and bars are beautiful. Miguel, Alex and Salvador at the receiption, Raul & Natalia by the pool, and the hotel manager all helped make us feel so welcome. Everyone was friendly and attentive, and so sweet to our daughter. We’re especially thankful for the quick, professional help when she needed a doctor for a stomach bug. We’ll definitely come back next year. H. Dedic

The views are unreal, and both the inside and outside of this stunning hotel are beautiful. It’s a real gem, and we highly recommend it. The whole family loved our stay. The rooms were stylish, clean, and beautiful, and we felt comfortable and at home the entire trip. Food was amazing across all the restaurants, with options for children too. The staff went above and beyond. Henar at reception, Ismail in the Resturant, and Honey deserve a special mention. The welcome and valet teams were brilliant, and the buggy service couldn’t have been better. The pool is great for kids, and a trip to the beach is a must.

The hotel and rooms look stunning, with modern, comfortable rooms and a beautiful, well-designed property. Staff were friendly and polite, and when problems came up, they apologized sincerely. We appreciated that, but service and organization fell short of what we expected. At breakfast, we waited 15-20 minutes despite lots of empty tables, and the staff often seemed overwhelmed and short-handed. The pool restaurant was worse: food took over an hour, even simple dishes, and they forgot basics like bread. We had to ask repeatedly for the bill, which still wasn’t brought promptly. The towel rule was frustrating too. We were told pool towels would be taken away after 15 minutes, so leaving for breakfast meant worrying the towels and loungers would be cleared unless someone stayed behind to watch them. The facilities and friendly team give the hotel plenty of potential, but its service coordination and operating systems don’t seem well managed or thought through right now.

The views are breathtaking, with Gibraltar cliffs and Africa visible from the hotel, and it’s still worth visiting for them. The hotel is stunning, with spacious, beautifully decorated rooms that were super clean. The spa was 10/10, and the pools and other facilities were really good. Service was the weak point. The staff were friendly and helpful, but every request took too long: over an hour for an iron and around 40 minutes for teabags. The hotel felt a bit understaffed, the buggy was slow, and there wasn’t service around the hotel. The beach was decent, but gloomy, with no facilities or shops. Random cars had pulled up on the stretch connected to the hotel, which wasn’t great. It’s a little out of the way, so you have to drive for some food.
