The rooms are small but do the job, and the location is great. Parking at La Concha was confusing: I bought a prepaid four-day pass through the hotel, but the directions weren’t clear. On our last day the ticket didn’t work and I was charged 72 euros. When I called, the receptionist wasn’t very helpful and basically said it wasn’t their problem.

The room is on the small side, but it was fine and the shower was good. Reception were friendly and helpful. Unloading bags is tricky on that busy one-way street.

Once you find the small doorway from the pavement, it’s lovely inside, with clean rooms and plenty of space. The value is excellent, and a noon checkout is great. They can also hold your luggage if you’re leaving later.

Garibai is clean, simple, and good quality, with a fantastic location and great value. It isn’t the place for anyone looking for something fancy, but I’d absolutely come back.
