Pensión Gurtxu by Sun Sebastián

The location was good, but the stay had several problems. I never got a reply about the issues I raised while I was there. The “private” bathroom was outside the room, down a corridor, and smelled awful; it also hadn’t been cleaned. The shower handle was broken and the shower head kept falling. On top of that, there was noise until 4 a.m. on a Monday.

We only stayed one night, and the closed windows kept most of the rain-soaked street noise out. Gurtxu is right in the center and easy to get to. I was with a friend and my dog, and our room had three beds. There was water and coffee pads in the room, and the shared bathroom was very clean. I noticed two other rooms on our floor, and the bathroom had shampoo, deodorant, creams, and other handy things to use. Gurtxu arranged our taxi to the airport and sent restaurant and activity suggestions too. Nice stay, and really good service.

The beds were so comfortable, and the shared bathroom was spotless. Rony was great about communicating and sharing tips, and the location was excellent. Each room had drinking water to refill your bottle, plus a kettle and coffee machine with coffee and tea. There’s also a fridge for keeping food fresh. Lots of thoughtful little details. It felt like home away from home.

The booking and checkout were both easy because the owners took care of everything. They’re really friendly and helpful, and the pension was very clean. We were right in the heart of San Sebastian’s old town, which was epic. I’ll stay here again when I’m back in SanSe. Thanks for everything.
