Faro de San Vicente

The location worked perfectly for us, just a short walk over the bridge to lots of bars and restaurants. We found plenty to see and do over two days, probably more. We enjoyed a long walk along Playa Oyambre and visited the historic villages of Santillana del Mar and Comillas. We'd definitely come back. We had a great weekend at Hotel Faro. Our room was spacious, with a small entry area and a lovely view, and the staff were welcoming and gave us helpful recommendations. The temperature was mild in early May, in the mid 60s, but the room got a bit stuffy. There's no A/C, so we used the fan at night and opened the windows while we were there, which cooled it down comfortably. Breakfast was good, with eggs, fresh whole fruit, yogurt, and more, and it was very good value.

The front desk went above and beyond. If you're a peregrino who needs a little extra accommodation, Hotel Faro can help. Be prepared for breakfast to cost 10-12E. There's no à la carte choice, not even coffee. For a cafe con leche, there's a bar/cafe around the corner by the nearest farmacia. Even though the menu clearly lists toast, you can't take coffee or toast in the restaurant in the morning. Charging 10 euros for breakfast only feels like the hotel is taking advantage of customers. Such a pity.

It's a simple, no-frills hotel. It was clean, though breakfast wasn't very good. I wouldn't stay again, but I would in a pinch.

The hotel was very clean and tidy, and the staff were great and helpful. There's no parking, just spaces on the road, which could be an issue if you have a disability.
