Hotel Galera

The location was great, and the staff were so kind and helpful, including the man on the night shift. Nothing felt like too much trouble. I’d read some of the other reviews and felt a little nervous, but honestly, I can’t fault the hotel. Thanks for a lovely stay. I can’t wait to come back!

The staff were the best part of the stay. Everyone was lovely, and the cleaners even came back to do our room on days we’d missed them. Service gets five stars from me. The pool was fine, though the bar only opened once during our seven-day stay. Maybe I misunderstood what to expect there. The location worked really well: about a five-minute walk to the beach and everything in san Antoni, and far enough from the city that clubs and crowds didn’t keep us up. Lidl and mercadona were around ten minutes away and saved us a lot of money. The San Antonio bus station was just two minutes away, which was handy. The room was basic but did the job for a cheap hotel. The walls were very thin, so we could hear everything. The toilet felt loose and tipped forward when you sat on it, and there was a damp smell after flushing. There’s a football club right outside. Kids trained in big groups at 9am on weekends and after school during the week. It wasn’t too bad unless you were out on the balcony.

One of the young men at reception called us “sluts.” At 6am he banged on our door for no reason, then opened it while I wasn’t wearing my shorts. It was disturbing and traumatic. I don’t know why he hasn’t been fired. Other reviews describe bad experiences with him too. He shouldn’t be working there. I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially to women.

I’ve been to ibiza lots of times, and hotels can be hit or miss. This one was just right. It was peaceful enough to rest, yet the west end was no more than a five-minute walk away. The staff were helpful and really friendly. The pool is over a small road, but it feels private and has a cool atmosphere. Good value too. We’d definitely return.
