Apartamentos Marian

My wife and I had a terrible experience at Marian. The room was advertised with a pull-out couch, but what we got was an uncomfortable futon. When our third person arrived, we asked for bedding and were given a foam mattress, which we had to carry up two flights of stairs ourselves. We had booked for three people for two weeks, yet were told there'd be an extra daily charge for the two days the third person stayed. A sign behind reception listed an extra occupant fee of 25€, but the owner demanded 40€. The owner was rude and seemed to take advantage of the language barrier by making up different rules. Most guests in the area speak English, so anyone dealing directly with them should speak it decently. Room servicing was infrequent and poorly done: one bed was made and changed while the other, right beside it, was left untouched. My wife's pillowcase wasn't changed for over eight days. The toilets have an extremely loud pump with every flush. Even earplugs didn't stop it from waking others, so using the bathroom at night risks disturbing everyone. We've had good stays nearby at Reco des Sol and in other apartments on the other side of the island. I'd strongly advise staying away from Marian.
