Gare du Nord Hotel

The practical location made our stay easy: there’s a large parking area right out front, and a supermarket, bars and a pharmacy are all a short walk away. Gare du Nord is also pet-friendly, which was a bonus. Its hidden entrance beside a cozy bistro adds to the charm, and without a traditional reception, arriving feels like slipping into the local rhythm. Inside, the property was spotless and well maintained. Our room had a large terrace with a comfortable daybed, a huge bed that made for a great night’s sleep, and an amazing rain shower. The homely design felt welcoming, while high-quality toiletries from an outstanding Barcelona brand, including shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and body cream, added a bit of luxury. It’s a lovely base in a charming town, whether you want a quiet break, are traveling with pets, or need somewhere convenient and comfortable. Gare du Nord brings together the ease of home and the touches of a boutique hotel, and I’d happily return.

The room felt shabby and disappointing for what we paid. The sink and shower drains were blocked, and the toilet made a noise every half hour all night. We were just above the cafe, so people talking and the traffic made it very noisy. I sent several messages and got no reply. We ate at The Giri Cafe. It was nice, but crazy expensive and the menu was tiny.

The room was lovely and had a big terrace, and the hotel is in a perfect location. There’s water in the hallway and a supermarket close by, though the fridge had no drinks. It took a long time for the hot water to come through. Such a shame the pool and jacuzzi weren’t working.
