Camelina Suites

The staff were the highlight for us. They were kind whenever we asked for anything and even helped after our car was robbed. The rooms were clean and laid out well, and the beach was close by. It's a bit away from San Antonio, which suited us as a family with kids. There were definitely bugs around. Ants got into the crumbs in our room and were all over the plaza floor. I also had to grab a cockroach by its antenna and toss it off the balcony. We had belongings stolen too, though I don't see that as the hotel's fault. Keep an eye on your things when you're away, and take your floaties back to your room. The place is beautiful, but maintenance and use of the facilities could be better. It looked like the hotel offered more services, but I couldn't tell whether they were closed because we came out of season or had stopped being offered, so I'd ask by message to check. The staff were lovely, which was a big plus.

The bungalow was in a great spot, close to the beach, good local bars and restaurants, and a little shop. Inside, the recently refurbished place had a clean, modern bathroom and comfortable beds. There was air conditioning in both the bedroom and lounge, where we also had a comfy sofa, coffee table, and large TV. The kitchen had everything we needed for a holiday, including a welcome pack with washing-up liquid, a sponge, and a cloth. We had a nice balcony and a sun deck too.

It was so peaceful that I slept better than I ever have, and our kids loved having the pool close to our room. The bungalows were really clean, with cleaning every two days and plenty of fresh towels and bedding. Staff were friendly and helpful, making sure we were comfortable. We had a perfect, relaxing break in a clean apartment, and it was excellent value. Thanks to the camelina staff for a fantastic stay. I'd love to come back and would recommend it to anyone.

The beach is close, which was the one real advantage for us. I was drawn in by the pool and garden, but our apartment was outside that area, cut off from the garden and right by the street. It felt horrible. There isn't an elevator either. The apartment itself was disappointing. The old furniture was easy to break, and one piece nearly hurt my child. The door was worn out and had no anti-lock function, which made me uncomfortable, especially for girls traveling there. The bed made such loud noises that we couldn't turn over at night. The kitchen didn't work when we arrived, and we waited almost two hours before it was fixed. The service team were quite good, though. For 330 a night, it wasn't worth it at all. At 150 a night, maybe I could have accepted it, since that's what I think it was worth. I rarely leave reviews, good or bad, but this stay left me extremely unhappy. That's all.
