Hotel Mariant Park

Dear Hotel Management, I’m writing to complain about the conditions during breakfast on your terrace. While we were eating, one of your employees operated a lawnmower directly beside the dining area, and we had to breathe in the exhaust fumes. Having breakfast outdoors under those conditions was unacceptable. Please take this incident into account and put measures in place to prevent it from happening again.

We had to knock on our neighbours’ door on three of our seven nights because the noise after midnight was beyond a joke with a baby asleep. I know the walls are thin, but some people have no respect. It sounded like guests were bringing friends back to their rooms for parties. The corridors were also very loud late at night, with people screaming and running around. The food was nothing special, just the same basic stuff each day, though the restaurant staff were always kind. There’s not much to do around the hotel, so don’t come unless you’re happy walking up and down the beach five times a day and visiting the same five shops. I definitely won’t be returning. Our first night was a nightmare from the start. I noticed the balcony door wouldn’t lock, and was told someone would look at it the next day. I was there with my one-year-old daughter, and wasn’t going to sleep in a room with an unlocked door. They told me nobody could get in, but I had to insist on another room. At first they said there were none free. After going back and forth, they moved us for the night. Strange how one became available after an hour.

I’m disappointed with my recent stay. My room was near the footpath, and people walking and talking right outside the window kept me from getting proper rest throughout the night. The constant noise affected my comfort and sleep. Please address this for future guests. I would appreciate

The friendly staff and young animators were the bright spot. They certainly helped make the children’s holiday better, and I’d give them the two stars. The hotel itself is old and clearly needs renovation. We found the prices too high for the service, and won’t return or recommend it. My husband, our one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and I stayed for a week in September. Our room was quite old, and we couldn’t use the small balcony at all. Rain on the first day left it full of water for the rest of the holiday. We also couldn’t use the pool one day, and on another day not until noon. Although we’d booked all-inclusive, we would have had to pay to use the safe. We could get one or two bottles of water for free, but had to pay for more, which didn’t seem right. We’d had drinking water available all the time in Croatia and Turkey. Pool towels also cost extra if we wanted to replace dirty ones. That didn’t feel like all-inclusive. I hope they’ve prepared better for the coming season.
