Playa Dorada

I spent six days here and had a pleasant stay, with a sea-facing balcony and lovely views. Being right near the water was one of the main reasons I chose the hotel, and the location lived up to that. Staff were polite, helpful, and kind. For a 3-star place, I thought it was good value. There was a nice range of food, although the taste wasn't always great. The variety helped, and there are plenty of nearby restaurants if you fancy something else. The chefs were friendly, and one kindly offered me a tea bag, which I appreciated. At 4:45 in the morning, while I waited for my transfer bus, the reception team invited me to sit inside with coffee or breakfast instead of waiting alone outside. It was a small kindness that meant a lot at a stressful moment. I had a lovely stay, and wish the team continued success.

The resort was lovely, with a beautiful beach and plenty of shops and restaurants. It feels more like the end of Sillot than Sa Coma. The hotel was mostly full of German guests, and we didn't meet any other British people while we were there. That didn't bother us, but Brits hoping to chat with other families might want to know. My friend and I really enjoyed the hotel. Our spacious room was clean and had a stunning sea view, and the maids came daily. The food was okay, though much the same with all-inclusive and a bit hit and miss. The bar was excellent, with good choices, and we loved the beer and sangria. There were lots of sunbeds, but it was very busy, so getting one meant getting up early. The woman at reception was friendly and chatty, and we thought she was hilarious.

Our kids thought this place was paradise, and there was plenty for them to do nearby. The hotel itself has billiards, table tennis, and a friendly atmosphere. It's not a quiet, hushed kind of place, but we liked the energy and plan to return. The rooms were huge, clean, and had sea views. Everything was cleaned properly each day, and the beach, restaurants, and shops were close. The waiters at the bar, especially Ismael and his colleague friends, were super friendly, helpful, and funny. The food was good, with different things every day, and there were no mosquitoes. My only real criticism was breakfast. The pistolets weren't freshly baked and were so hard they were difficult to eat. The toast machines were basic and slow too. I suggested fresh baking the pistolets in an oven and getting an automatic conveyor toaster like some other hotels have.

Our second stay here and we had a lovely time again. The staff are friendly and work really hard, the room was clean and nice, and the food was brilliant. We didn't want to leave and will be back soon.
