Càmping Kanguro

The accommodation was very good, and the location right by the beach is amazing. Staff were friendly too.

The security was good, the pool was nice, and the view was lovely during our short stay. But if you want a good camping experience, this isn’t the place. I’ve stayed at one-star campsites that were cleaner, quieter, and much better overall. We called to ask about bringing a 4x4 with a roof tent and were told there was space, but they only accept guests for at least two nights. They also charged us as if we had a camper van, which has never happened to us at another campsite. We arrived Friday night and left Sunday. Both nights, the bar beside the short-stay pitches was extremely loud, and music from long-term residents went on past 3am. The pool has no closing time, so people may be swimming and making noise late at night. During the day, trains run from early morning until late at night. They sound their horns two or three times each time they pass to warn people crossing the tracks on the way to the beach. The toilets were dirty and smelled of urine. There was old poop left in the bowls even after the cleaners had been by. The toilets and showers are very outdated. The doors in the ladies’ bathroom wouldn’t close properly, so people could see inside. I even had people try to look through the gap after they’d confirmed the door was locked. The showers are a bit far away, and at busy times you may have to wait a long time because the long-term residents use them too. Even when you finally get one, the water might not be warm. The water barely runs, and the showerhead can’t be adjusted, so you practically have to press yourself against the wall to get under it.

The price is hard to beat, especially with the ocean views, well-kept gardens and camping area, and laundry on site for 3 euros. The staff are helpful and kind, and someone is there around the clock. The campground is close to the ocean, though you’ll want good walking shoes for the hills on the way down to the shore or up to the shower area. My only downside was Friday and Saturday nights, when locals come to their weekend spots and the bar and restaurant get loud, sometimes until 2am. I’d stay again in a minute.

The staff at the campground were incredibly kind and helpful, and the bathrooms were always clean, with toilet paper and hot water in the showers. We stayed in triganos, which worked perfectly for a long weekend with friends. It’s so close to the beach that you wake up to a view of the sea. It has what you need for camping, and more.
