Hotel Las Canteras

We first stopped here six years ago, when it had 4.7 stars, and since then we've returned several times a year on our drives to the coast. It was huge even then, and the staff handled the crowds beautifully. It's still a handy, simple place to take a break halfway from Madrid. The daily menu is good, though the price has gone from 12/18 back then to 20/28 now. That's on the high side, though maybe this was the weekend menu. The food can be a bit hit or miss depending on the day or the kitchen's mood. Sometimes it's amazing, and this time they were very flexible about adapting dishes for intolerances. I really hope the food and service get back to their outstanding best.

After a long day of driving, a coffee and cake here really hit the spot. The showers are mega clean, and there's a dryer too, all for just 3€!

The restaurant has really good quality delicacies, including wonderful chocolate that's 70% cocoa and up, plus a pistachio chocolate to die for. There are plenty of local pastries too, and the coffee is decent. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Definitely worth a stop.

We stopped at this clean hotel restaurant along the highway, about two hours before reaching Granada. The Spanish food was decent, the atmosphere cozy, and the service good. Prices were reasonable too.
