The included luggage storage before and after check-in was useful, and the staff were very friendly. Still, my friend and I felt so uneasy sharing a room with the men there that we booked another hostel at the last minute and got no refund. One middle-aged man kept looking us, two young women, up and down and watching us from across the room. I wouldn’t feel comfortable making eye contact with someone behaving like that on the street, let alone sleeping in the same room. Other men were relaxing in their underwear. I know the hostel may not be responsible for other guests, but I’d especially warn women against booking the cheapest room in the cheapest hostel in Valencia. The receptionist advised us to choose an all-female dorm next time, though those often cost more for the same bed you’d get in a mixed dorm. We’d also read the bedbug reviews, and were glad we didn’t stay.

The kitchen is well equipped and the location is good, but the room smelled quite bad and was underwhelming. I usually book mixed dorms, yet as a female traveller I didn’t feel as comfortable here as I’d hoped. I wouldn’t recommend the 10-person dorm to other women. The staff are nice. If I were booking again, I wouldn’t choose this hostel.

We’d happily come back. The hostel was clean and well organised, with comfortable beds and nice common areas. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the old town is close enough that you can walk everywhere.

Our double room had its own bathroom and was cleaned every day. It was clean, with hot water, AC and wifi. The hostel is in a prime spot near historic places and public transport. Reception staff were friendly, and there’s free locker room storage as well. Breakfast is available in the morning for 2€.

A good budget stay right in the centre, with clean rooms and spacious, tidy washrooms. The basic amenities are all there. Only real downside was the slow WiFi.
