The room tour is on YouTube, searchable under hakurepo(stay report) or the hotel's name. I stayed here comfortably, and for the price I'd recommend it. I booked a regular room but got a balcony room at no extra charge. The balcony was small, but it was nice to look out over the city. I skipped breakfast because I had to get up early the next morning. The interior was clean and modern, and the front desk staff were polite, as you'd expect from a Melia hotel. The hotel is in the center of Tenerife and was scheduled to open in 2024. The building seemed to have existed already, so it may have been rebranded or renovated.

The neighborhood is very walkable and the location is really nice, close to everything. Staff were lovely and helped with every little request, and the rooms feel quite new and modern. A couple of things could be better: a proper desk for a laptop in the room would be useful, and the shower temperature is pretty inconsistent.

The reception team were amazing. They came up to help when we needed extra towels and when the safe wasn't working. The rooms are modern and very nice, with a great comfortable bed and nice pillows. The rooftop bar looks nice too.

The main downside is the lack of hotel parking. Free street parking nearby is hard to find, and many spots are restricted. There's an arrangement with a garage about a four-minute walk away for €18 per day, with unlimited entry and exit. Even with that extra cost, the price feels very reasonable for the location, room and breakfast. The hotel sits right by Santa Cruz's main pedestrian streets, surrounded by restaurants, cafés and plenty of shopping, which my wife thought was very much worth it. Plaza del Príncipe de Asturias is just across from the entrance, a lovely shady square with trees and greenery. The beach and port are also walkable. Inside, the hotel feels new and modern. Our room was spacious and bright, with a nice ocean view, and the large bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was roomy, the shower was a treat, and the towels and toiletries were high quality. There was air conditioning, a safe, strong and stable WIFI, and a minibar with two complimentary juices and two bottles of water, refilled daily. Breakfast was varied and well prepared, with plenty of local options. There was lots of seating, several coffee machines, and you could squeeze fresh oranges right there. Service was excellent at reception, in the dining room and from the cleaning staff.

It's a city hotel, and a very, very good one. The central location is perfect, it's modern and clean, and everyone is friendly. The minibar has free refreshing drinks, and all the services you'd want are there. I really don't understand the negative reviews. Do people expect a spa and wellness Ressort hotel right in the middle of a city?
