The apartment is right in the old center of Santa Pau and has all the utensils you need. Just keep in mind that the loft used as a second bedroom gets too hot to use, at least in summer. For four people, expect one double bedroom plus the sofa bed. They have an arrangement with Can Txel for pool access, but you need to ask about it. Dogs are allowed for a small fee if you mention that there’s an outdoor patio for them. To reach the patio, you have to leave the apartment and walk through part of the house, but that works fine.

Stepping outside into the lovely stone setting beside the castle and city walls was the best part of our stay. We were in the “Santa Margarida” apartment at Can Salgueda, with a spacious kitchen-dining area, TV, utensils and refrigerator. It also had a double bedroom with two separate beds pushed together, a perfectly adequate bathroom, and a cozy upstairs loft with two mattresses on wooden slats on the floor. If you’re heavy, you may feel the floor through the loft beds, but otherwise they’re fine. Everything was spotless and the service was excellent. The Can Xel pool, just 3 km from Santa Pau, was free for us to use through an agreement with the hosts, and it’s very nice. We had a fantastic few days and will definitely return.

Cris was lovely, and we had a great stay with our dogs. A really nice rural apartment in Santa Pau, clean, nicely decorated, and in an unbeatable setting. We’ll recommend it. 👍🏻

The bathroom and kitchen were good, but the bed was so uncomfortable and creaky that we were awake all night. The sofa bed was even worse when we tried it. The sofa and armchair were also quite dusty, and the communal garden, reached from outside, was neglected and full of nettles. Rustic is fine, but comfort should come first in tourist accommodation. We’d booked five nights and left after the first.
