Riviera Hotel

We ate at the restaurant at the front of the hotel, and the food was lovely and freshly cooked. Later, we had drinks in the hotel bar, where the prices were very reasonable. The staff were really friendly and gave fantastic service. We didn't stay at the hotel itself.

The beach is just across the road, and the reception staff were friendly. Our room was in good condition and looked recently renovated. There's a mini club for children and daily activities for anyone who wants to join in. The restaurant food was good too. The rooms are extremely small. We had only about half a meter of space around the bed in a room for two adults and a child, so I wouldn't rate this as a four-star hotel, more like three. Our room faced the hotel next door, which was very close, so there was no view or real chance to enjoy the terrace. It was quiet on that side, but the other side faces an outdoor disco that plays until midnight. With a child, or if you want to sleep before midnight, even a closed window doesn't block it out. The restaurant is in a basement with no real windows, which made us want to eat quickly and leave, despite the good food. Most of the staff didn't seem very welcoming, perhaps because they were stressed while the hotel was full. There was a long queue for dinner after 20:00. The hotel also has very little outdoor space beyond the area for the swimming pool.

We haven't had bath towels in our room for the second day in a row. I asked reception six times and each time was told they'd bring them in five minutes, but they still haven't arrived. After cleaning, the toilet and sink were left dirty, as if the job hadn't been finished. The restaurant food and rooms are nice, but these problems are really frustrating. On our first day, we met a very friendly receptionist who explained everything politely and cheerfully. Now it feels like nobody cares what I say.
