Casa Felisa

Those baby squids were amazing. We’d gone on someone’s recommendation and were so impressed by the food and the helpful, lovely staff that we returned three times. The quiet, cool garden was gorgeous, tucked just minutes from busy touristy Santiago, and made the visit even nicer.

The people serving us were friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself is lovely, which made the meal all the more disappointing. I ordered Garlic Prawns to start and Sea Bass for my main. After one or two prawns I noticed a horrible smell. I’d missed it at first because I had a bit of a cold, but the prawns clearly didn’t seem fresh. The Sea Bass was no better, so we had to send the food back. We left and got pizza somewhere else, which ended up being the highlight of the evening. The atmosphere and service were top-notch, but the food was terrible. I’d strongly recommend avoiding Casa Felisa and eating elsewhere.

We ate in a lovely, rustic indoor garden, a real little jewel. The food was fresh, simple, and not expensive. I had pulpo, and my husband had grilled fish with potatoes.

There were seven of us for dinner in Santiago de Compostela, and they fit us in really well. We were celebrating a birthday, and the staff were happy for us to bring a cake and candles as a surprise. The service was phenomenal, big thanks to the servers. The food was lovely too, especially the garlic pork with chips, which I’d recommend.
