It’s an excellent location and a great way to begin the Camino pilgrimage. The receptionist was very polite, and the facilities were clean. There’s even a foot massage machine. I’d never stayed in a 34-bed dormitory before, but luckily only 20 (!!) people had booked. The evening service was beautiful ❤️🙏✝️

The historical building is nice and the location is excellent for the Santiago walk, but I wasn’t happy with the stay. It felt too basic and could use some investment. There was no soap or hand paper in the toilets, only one washing and drying machine, and the toilets were shared by men and women. Some shower doors wouldn’t lock. It’s also up the hill and far from shops and services.

This place is serviceable, though it has a bit of a pilgrim warehouse feel and isn’t the worst albergue I’ve stayed in. It’s a little farther from the main part of the city, but the walk isn’t bad. If you’ve been walking the Camino for a while, Sarria can feel like a real shock to the system. Keep going, you can do it! And from here on, definitely book your accommodation ahead.

The staff were very kind at check-in, and the room and facilities were okay for the price, though old. Just don’t arrive at night, it’s very dark!

I paid 12 euros and thought it was too much for this place. The rooms are enormous, so you hear a steady chorus of coughing and snorting, along with some sexual noises. A dog in the house next door barked literally all night. Then people set alarms for 4am, sure they’ll get up, but can’t manage to turn them off, so everyone wakes to those generic Samsung chimes. It made for a nasty, very short night. If you can afford it, spend the money on a private room at one of the hotels down the hill.
