The host was lovely, and the garden is beautiful. Inside, everything was clean, from the bathroom and shower to the dorm room. The beds are all singles rather than bunks, with proper sheets and blankets, and there’s a well-equipped kitchen. A really nice albergue.

We stayed in the house across the way, which is part of the facility. It was clean and had everything we needed for one night, including towels, a hair dryer, and shampoo. At check-in, we got useful tips on where to eat and how to set off on our walk the next morning. You can also buy passports and shells there.

The beautiful courtyard and the hosts’ accommodating attitude made this a fantastic place to stay. The complimentary liquor tasting was a nice extra.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and both the rooms and beds were sparkling clean. There are private and shared rooms at reasonable prices. You can wash your own clothes or pay to have laundry done, and they have their own stamp for the Camino credentials.

There are bunks in rooms at the front and back, and even upstairs on a sun deck. In winter, there’s an open fireplace for sing-alongs, plus a friendly dog who lives there. The hosts are lovely, and the place has an unusual, appealing feel. The host helps load the washing machine, and it’s close to the market where we had the best octopus we’ve eaten.
