Hotel Spa Martin El Humano

The room was great, and they had excellent storage for my bicycle. The two ladies at reception were lovely, and one of them was also there at breakfast the next day. Breakfast was superb. It's just a short walk, about 3-4 minutes, to the center of the small town.

The rooms were nice, with large, clean beds, a good bathroom, and air conditioning. The chocolate cake was really good and not dry at all. But this is supposed to be a four-star hotel, and to me it felt more like three. The location isn't the best, so the price seems high for what you get. We ordered the dinner menu. The starter was respectable, but the main course was awful. I asked for a simple burger and got raw meat with no bun. When I asked the waitress for bread, she brought out one that wasn't even finished baking, hard like a shell outside, hollow and doughy in the middle. I complained, and she said that's how both the burger and bread were meant to be. The bad service, disgusting burger, and lack of English made communication difficult and frustrating, and dragged down the whole hotel.

A lovely setting with a quiet atmosphere. The rooms were nice, breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly.

The waitress was very abrupt, and my husband's à la carte lamb chops were so dry they were inedible. We stayed in a Duplex room, and it hadn't been cleaned well: the railings were really dusty and the floor was gritty. For a four-star hotel, it needs maintenance.
